About Us
In the Hills Equine is an educational facility gratefully run from our family farm Butternut Bench . The farm is located on 28 acres of orchards, gardens, forest trails, and our new farm land in the beautiful Blue Mountains. We are located minutes from Clarksburg, Thornbury and about 25 minutes from Collingwood.
We are dedicated, insured, first aid certified, knowledgeable facilitators; helping children and adults learn about horsemanship, riding, farming, and gardening. We will be offering multiple programs, courses, camps and activities for toddlers, children and adults. We have a small team of inspired and dedicated individuals who are excited to share knowledge and lessons with our participants and students. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our new farm!
Our Story
We started our business as we were a young family looking for some farm activities for our children to participate in. We quickly realized that there was a lack of farm programming in our community. We were approached by a few of our friends who asked if we could put together a pony program that would expose their children to the world of horses in a safe, and fun environment. With over 25 years experience in the horse world Coach Krystin decided it was time to start her own business teaching children about the world of horses, chickens, riding and farm life in general. The programs grew over the years to include gardening, summer camps, march break camps, toddler riding lessons, adult yoga and horsemanship and more. We have been running our business from a few different facilities over the years (as we lived in town and boarded our horses), but we are so excited to announce that we now have our very own farm! 28 acres of forest, orchard, gardens and farm land. In past some of what we had hoped to offer was limited as we were not the property owners, we are now so excited to be able to offer some super exciting new programs as well as some of our past programs. Our new property is located in The Blue Mountains, and we look forwards to opening our gates to this new community. While we will miss our old community of the Caledon, Orangeville and Mono area, we will be forever grateful for the years of support we received. We look forward to our future,
